Do you have the calm, resilience, and care to support children during the night?
We’re recruiting Waking Night Support Workers to work in children’s residential homes across Salford and Stockport, supporting young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural challenges. You’ll be a vital presence during the night, ensuring each young person feels safe, secure, and supported.
The Role:
- Monitoring the safety and wellbeing of children overnight
- Carrying out hourly checks and ensuring a calm, secure environment
- Providing emotional support to children who may struggle to sleep or feel unsettled
- Completing logs, safeguarding records, and handovers to day staff
- Supporting with light household tasks and preparing for the following day
- £12.50 per hour
- 2 on / 4 off rota with approx. 160 hours per month
- Structured induction and ongoing training
- Excellent support from an experienced team
- Opportunities for progression into day roles or senior positions
- Previous experience in a residential or care environment
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
- Calm, observant, and compassionate approach
- Willing to work permanent waking nights
- A driver’s licence is preferred but not essential
