Are you ready to make a real impact in the lives of children and young people? Haringey Youth Justice Service is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join their dedicated team on a maternity cover basis for up to 12 months.
π About the Service: Haringey Youth Justice Service (YJS) sits within the Early Help, Prevention and SEND Division of the Children and Young People's Directorate. We are committed to a child-first, restorative, and trauma-informed approach to prevent offending and reoffending and to ensure custody is always a last resort.
Youβll be joining a forward-thinking team that has:
- Achieved the Youth Justice SEND Quality Lead Status with a Child First Commendation.
- A number of live Innovation Projects.
- Recognition as a licensed AQA Centre.
You will also contribute to the delivery of the Youth Justice Strategic Priorities over the next three years, including:
- Child First approaches across service delivery.
- Expansion of Restorative Justice.
- Strengthening the Youth Justice Health Offer (EMH, SLT, substance misuse).
- Tackling disproportionality in outcomes.
- Improving outcomes for Children in Care/SEND.
- Reducing Serious Youth Violence, particularly robbery and knife crime.
- Broadening Prevention and Diversion work with young people and families.
- A social work, probation, youth work or criminal justice qualification (e.g., DipSW, BA/MA Social Work, Youth Justice qualification).
- Current registration with Social Work England (if applicable).
- Experience in youth justice, ideally with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
- Deep understanding of youth justice and childrenβs legislation.
- Strong partnership working and communication skills.
- A commitment to restorative practice, evidence-based intervention, and positive outcomes for children, families, and communities.
