Job Title: Youth Justice Officer

🕒 Hours: Full-Time📅 Contract: Ongoing
💷 Pay: £20.67 PAYE / £25.75 Umbrella

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced Youth Justice Officer to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary Youth Offending Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people in the community and custody who present a range of complex needs and behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people subject to pre-court disposals, statutory court orders and bail packages.
  • Conduct holistic assessments identifying risks, protective factors and root causes of offending.
  • Design and deliver bespoke interventions using one-to-one and group approaches to support desistance.
  • Work closely with families, carers, and partner agencies using trauma-informed and restorative practices.
  • Prepare high-quality Pre-Sentence Reports and represent the service in court settings.
  • Support volunteer panels, develop parenting interventions, and carry out home visits.
  • Maintain accurate records, monitor effectiveness of interventions, and adhere to data protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Contribute to service development and induction of new staff.
Requirements:
✅ Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Social Work, Probation, Youth Justice).
✅ Extensive experience working with young people in a youth justice or similar setting.
✅ Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
✅ Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across multi-agency settings.
✅ Commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
✅ Enhanced DBS and full UK driving licence.
