Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Local Authority in South Yorkshire for an experienced Adult Social Care Solicitor to join their legal team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with strong experience in Adult Social Care law and public law matters to work within a supportive local authority legal department. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload involving complex adult social care matters and provide high-quality legal advice to internal stakeholders.
Location: South Yorkshire / Fully Remote
Umbrella Rate: £50.00 – £65.00 per hour Umbrella
PAYE Rate (Inclusive of Holiday Pay): Approx. £44.00 – £57.00 per hour
Duration: 3-Month Rolling Contract

Responsibilities as an Adult Social Care Solicitor:
- Manage a caseload of adult social care matters from instruction through to completion.
- Handle matters relating to the Care Act 2014, safeguarding, mental capacity, deprivation of liberty, ordinary residence disputes, and Court of Protection applications.
- Provide legal advice to social workers, senior management, and council committees on adult social care and related legal issues.
- Draft and review legal documentation including applications, witness statements, pleadings, and court bundles.
- Represent the Local Authority in hearings or liaise effectively with counsel where required.
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with a current practising certificate.
- Significant experience handling Adult Social Care / Court of Protection matters, ideally within a Local Authority setting.
- Strong advocacy skills or experience instructing counsel effectively.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and case management abilities.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload while working to strict deadlines.
