Area Property Operations Manager
Location: HMP Leeds & HMP Wakefield
Contract: 6 Month Contract
Working Pattern: Full time
Pay Rate: £405.22 PAYE per hour / £550 LTD per hour
About the Role:
The Area Property Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operational management, maintenance, and compliance of property assets across HMP Leeds and HMP Wakefield. This role ensures that facilities are safe, secure, and maintained in line with statutory regulations and operational requirements within a custodial environment.
The postholder will act as a key liaison between stakeholders, service providers, and internal teams to ensure effective delivery of property and facilities management services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day property operations across multiple custodial sites
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, statutory requirements, and MoJ standards
- Manage and monitor service delivery from facilities management suppliers and contractors
- Lead on planned and reactive maintenance programmes
- Support budget management and cost control across the estate
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Ensure effective incident response and resolution relating to property/facilities issues
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide performance reporting and operational updates as required
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience in property, estates, or facilities management within a complex environment
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance frameworks
- Experience managing contractors and service providers
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure or secure environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience overseeing maintenance programmes and asset management
