Are you an experienced Building Services Engineer seeking an exciting contract opportunity? We are currently looking for a proactive and skilled Assistant Building Services Engineer (G8) to join the Place Property Service team at County Hall, Preston. This role offers hybrid working with the requirement to attend County Hall as and when needed, supporting the delivery of critical building maintenance and project tasks.

Candidate Responsibilities for the Assistant Building Services Engineer (G8):
As an Assistant Building Services Engineer (G8), your key responsibilities will include:
- Responding promptly to reactive issues such as loss of heating, hot water, and electrical services, guiding contractors to resolution in line with current standards and regulations.
- Managing small-scale building service projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards acceptable to LCC.
- Supporting the Building Service Engineers in the delivery of all building services tasks, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Liaising proactively with other services within LCC and multidisciplinary teams across the council to facilitate seamless operations.
- Providing technical support and guidance within LCC, acting as a point of expertise for building services matters.
- Assisting the Principal Building Services Engineer in the delivery of departmental objectives and projects.
- Acting as Duty Engineer on a rota system, serving as a point of contact for reactive calls and urgent issues.
- Applying your technical knowledge of building services such as air conditioning, lifts, fire alarms, heating, and electrical systems, whether electrically or mechanically biased.
- Using office and systems tools proficiently, including Word, Excel, PAMS, PPM systems, and portals.
Candidate Profile & Skills:
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Building Services Engineer (G8) role will possess:
- Strong background in building services engineering, with experience in both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with building systems including HVAC, lifts, fire safety, electrical, and heating.
- Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel) and facilities management systems (PAMS, PPM portals).
- Experience responding to reactive maintenance issues and managing small projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments and with contractors.
- Flexibility to attend County Hall on-site as needed, supporting operational needs.
