A client within the Public Sector based in Wiltshire is currently recruiting for an Assistant HR Business Partner to join their HR Operations Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Human Resources environment.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to provide HR support and assistance to the HR Operations team, giving advice and guidance to managers and staff. The role holder will build effective working relationships across the Council to influence and support managers in achieving local and corporate objectives.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on Council policies, terms and conditions of employment, and HR issues in line with employment legislation.
• Support, coach, and empower line managers to effectively manage disciplinary, grievance, and capability issues.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with managers, employees, and trade union representatives to ensure effective resolution of employee relations matters.
• Screen vacancies and identify suitable redeployment opportunities for employees.
• Undertake job evaluations using benchmarking data to ensure consistency and fairness.
• Update HR casework databases and provide HR data and insights for monitoring purposes.
• Advise on and participate in recruitment processes, ensuring compliance with Council procedures.
• Contribute to HR policy development and HR-related projects.
• Support HR Business Partners with research, data analysis, and preparation of briefing papers.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• CIPD qualification (or working towards) with experience of working effectively in a complex organisation.
• Proven track record of providing clear, balanced advice and guidance on HR issues.
• Experience of working in a customer-focused HR department, facilitating and leading change.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong understanding of employment law and case management including disciplinary, grievance, and performance.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and analytical skills.
• Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £23.15 per hour PAYE).
