Hours: 37 hours per week

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an Assistant Market Manager to work within Gorton.

Are you passionate about supporting local businesses and making a difference within your community?

We are looking for a proactive and people-focused Assistant Market Manager to support the day-to-day operation of Gorton Market. Working closely with the Market Manager, you will help ensure the market remains a safe, vibrant and well-managed environment for traders and visitors. You will be a visible presence on site, supporting traders, dealing with issues and helping to maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment where local businesses can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting traders and maintaining strong working relationships
• Providing day-to-day guidance and resolving issues quickly and fairly
• Ensuring health and safety compliance across the site
• Identifying risks and taking practical action to maintain a safe environment
• Collecting rent, monitoring accounts and completing administrative tasks
• Responding to issues as they arise
• Helping to maintain a clean, safe and inclusive market
• Supporting events, promotions and operational improvements
• Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the market

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience within markets, retail, customer service or another customer-facing environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Confident working independently and making decisions on the ground
• Able to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
• A proactive approach to problem solving
• Committed to maintaining high standards of service
• Comfortable working with traders, customers and members of the public

Weekend and evening availability is essential due to the busiest trading periods at the market.
