Assistant Plan Coordinator

Are you an organised and detail-oriented administrator with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or education? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and excel at managing multiple priorities? We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Plan Coordinator to join a busy Education, Health and Care (EHC) Team within a local authority in South Yorkshire (Barnsley area). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to essential EHCP administration on a temporary contract basis.

Job Title: Assistant Plan Coordinator
Employment Type: Contract (2 weeks)
Location: South Yorkshire (Barnsley area) — hybrid working (office-based Mondays and Thursdays)
Pay Rate: £17.70 per hour (Umbrella) / £13.69 per hour (PAYE)
Start Date: ASAP


Candidate Responsibilities for the Assistant Plan Coordinator

  • Provide crucial administrative support for Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes
  • Manage and monitor a busy team inbox, responding promptly to queries
  • Use Excel to track, update, and maintain accurate records seamlessly
  • Support the team in meeting strict statutory deadlines to ensure timely delivery of services
  • Assist with general coordination tasks within the EHC Team, facilitating smooth operations
  • Ensure data is recorded accurately and kept up-to-date, maintaining high standards of data integrity
  • Contribute to the efficient running of the team by managing competing priorities effectively

Candidate Requirements & Skills

  • Experience in education and/or Special Educational Needs (SEN) is preferred
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work at pace
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with data
  • Experience managing shared inboxes or high-volume email communication
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
  • A proactive and professional approach to work
