Audit and Accounts Senior – Key Responsibilities

As an Audit and Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing financial statements for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and charities
• Managing independent examinations for charity clients
• Acting as the primary contact for client queries and issue resolution
• Assisting managers with client audits and ensuring smooth operations
• Producing year-end accounts in compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Reviewing work completed by junior staff to ensure accuracy and quality
• Completing VAT returns accurately and punctually
• Preparing schedules for tax returns, meeting all deadlines
• Performing ad hoc duties as required within the team

Candidate Requirements

The ideal Audit and Accounts Senior will possess:

• Prior experience working within an accountancy practice
• Full right to work in the UK
• ACCA/ACA qualification or working towards it (part-qualified welcomed)
• Experience working with Xero (desirable)
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
• Local to Halifax or willing to commute
