Contract: Temporary - Full Time Hours
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a London Borough Council for an experienced and knowledgeable Building Safety & Compliance Manager to join their Housing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance, fire safety, or building safety professional to play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, resident safety, and best practice across a large social housing portfolio. The successful candidate will act as the Council’s lead point of contact for housing safety and compliance matters, providing expert technical guidance across building safety, fire safety, health & safety, and statutory compliance. The Role will require reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for leading on building safety and compliance across the Council’s housing stock, ensuring all statutory obligations are met while supporting operational teams, contractors, and stakeholders. You will provide technical leadership, manage compliance-related contracts, and support the development of robust safety systems and procedures across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Council’s lead officer for housing building safety and statutory compliance
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and support regarding fire safety, health & safety, and building compliance matters
- Deliver training, instruction, and awareness sessions to staff, stakeholders, residents, and senior officers
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards across the housing portfolio
- Support procurement and contract management of statutory compliance and repairs contracts
- Monitor contractor performance, compliance delivery, and service quality
- Lead on health & safety and building safety risk reduction initiatives
- Ensure robust policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks are maintained and followed
- Work collaboratively with housing teams, contractors, residents, and external agencies
- Manage and support the Health & Safety team to ensure effective service delivery
- Prepare reports, compliance data, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders
- Previous experience within a Building Safety, Compliance, Fire Safety, or Health & Safety management role
- Strong understanding of social housing compliance and relevant legislation
- Experience managing statutory compliance contracts within housing or property services
- Knowledge of building safety regulations, fire safety legislation, and health & safety requirements
- Experience providing technical guidance and training to internal and external stakeholders
- Strong contractor management and performance monitoring experience
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Relevant professional qualifications within Building Safety, Fire Safety, Health & Safety, or Compliance are desirable
