Caretaker (ICM) – Backshift Role
Location: Innovation Centre Medway
Hours: 1pm to 5:30pm
Salary: £14,934 - £15,861 per annum
Closing Date: 28/04/2026

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to join an established and supportive site team at the Innovation Centre Medway. This is a permanent locum opportunity working a backshift pattern (1:00pm – 5:30pm).

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone practical, reliable, and customer-focused, who takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general caretaking duties to maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented building
• Support contractors and assist with day-to-day site operations
• Set up meeting rooms and event spaces (furniture, equipment, and light cleaning)
• Work closely with the morning caretaker, including daily handovers
• Undertake health & safety responsibilities including Fire Warden duties
• Act as a First Aider (training provided)
• Secure the building at the end of each shift

Requirements

• Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) and willingness to learn new systems
• Experience working with customers or the public
• Previous experience in soft FM (cleaning, waste management, general upkeep)
• Willingness to undertake fire safety and evacuation training
