Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Housing Association for an experienced Caretaker to join their Facilities & Environmental team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proactive attitude, strong customer service skills and experience maintaining residential estates to a high standard.
As a Caretaker, you will play a key role in ensuring communal areas, estates and residential properties are safe, secure, clean and well maintained whilst providing an excellent service to residents and supporting the wider neighbourhood team.

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Housing Association for an experienced Caretaker to join their Facilities & Environmental team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proactive attitude, strong customer service skills and experience maintaining residential estates to a high standard.
As a Caretaker, you will play a key role in ensuring communal areas, estates and residential properties are safe, secure, clean and well maintained whilst providing an excellent service to residents and supporting the wider neighbourhood team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections of residential estates, communal areas and external grounds to ensure they are clean, safe and well maintained.
- Deliver a responsive caretaking service, dealing with day-to-day maintenance issues and responding promptly to incidents.
- Undertake minor repairs and basic building maintenance to communal areas.
- Identify, report and monitor repairs, defects and Health & Safety hazards.
- Maintain the security and presentation of estates and communal facilities.
- Act as a visible and approachable presence for residents, providing excellent customer service and assistance where required.
- Build positive working relationships with residents, contractors and internal departments to ensure service issues are resolved efficiently.
- Support neighbourhood teams in promoting estate services and encouraging resident engagement.
- Carry out routine cleaning and environmental duties where required.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH regulations and company procedures.
- Participate in emergency and out-of-hours responses when required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Caretaker, Estate Operative, Mobile Caretaker or in a similar role.
- Demonstrable commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Practical experience carrying out minor property repairs and basic maintenance.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH regulations.
- Ability to identify defects and take appropriate action.
- Confident working independently and using your own initiative.
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word and email.
- Full UK Driving License (Essential).
- Flexible approach with a willingness to work outside normal hours if required.
