Child Protection Chair / Independent Reviewing Officer (Contract – 3 Months)

Are you a dedicated Child Protection Chair / Independent Reviewing Officer looking for a challenging yet rewarding opportunity? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team on a 3-month contract, primarily focusing on chairing child protection conferences and ensuring safeguarding arrangements are in place for vulnerable children. This is an immediate start position based at Time Square, Bracknell.

Job Title: Child Protection Chair / Independent Reviewing Officer
Contract Length: 3 months
Location: Time Square, Bracknell
Hours: 3-day per week (primarily chairing CP conferences)
Pay Rate: Competitive depending on experience


Candidate Responsibilities for the Child Protection Chair / Independent Reviewing Officer

  • Chair child protection conferences, ensuring that the voice of the child remains central to safeguarding plans.
  • Contribute to service and directorate-wide quality assurance activities to promote learning and development across the workforce.
  • Quality assure care planning arrangements for each child, ensuring their wishes and feelings are fully incorporated into the planning process.
  • Follow statutory guidance for Independent Reviewing Officers, ensuring compliance and high standards of practice.
  • Attend all conferences in person at Time Square, Bracknell, and facilitate discussions that support the safety and well-being of children.
  • Provide professional oversight and support to social workers and care teams, promoting best practices in child safeguarding.
