Childcare Solicitor (Locum Contract – Blackpool) | 2 weeks initially

We are seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor for a fast-paced locum assignment in Blackpool. This Childcare Solicitor role is offered on a contract basis for an initial 2-week period, with the expectation of extension (up to 12 weeks and beyond, subject to requirements). You will join a busy environment where strong childcare law expertise and confidence in advocacy and drafting are essential.

Childcare Solicitor – Candidate Responsibilities

• Manage a personal caseload covering all areas of Childcare Solicitor-related matters, including complex legal advice
• Provide advice to clients verbally and in writing on childcare law issues
• Draft and prepare complex legal documentation accurately and efficiently
• Carry out advocacy as required, including court attendance where applicable
• Work with local authority cases; Local Authority knowledge/experience is essential for the Childcare Solicitor role
• Demonstrate thoroughness with case file management and professional practice standards
• Be available for office or court attendance at least 1 day per week, with locality to Blackpool preferred

Childcare Solicitor – Requirements

• Up-to-date qualifications and suitability for the role as per JDPS
• Ability to support 2-year referencing; employment gaps will be checked
• Strong working knowledge of childcare law and public law proceedings
• The ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy, clarity, and discretion
