About the Role
The Childcare Solicitor will be responsible for advising and representing clients in Private Children Law and domestic abuse cases. You will conduct advocacy both in and out of court, manage files efficiently using the Proclaim Case Management System (training provided), and support colleagues within the Children Department. The role demands a professional and confident approach, with excellent communication skills and high organisational standards. The position is full-time, with part-time hours considered, offering flexibility to suit your circumstances.
Candidate Responsibilities for the Childcare Solicitor Role:
- Advising and representing clients in Private Children Law and domestic abuse cases
- Conducting advocacy in and out of court
- Managing case files using the Proclaim Case Management System
- Supporting colleagues within the Children Department
- Building and maintaining professional relationships through networking
- Ensuring compliance with all legal regulations and procedures
Required Skills & Experience for the Childcare Solicitor:
- Qualified and experienced in Children Law
- Knowledge of Legal Aid regulations and procedures
- Resolution accredited and/or a Children Panel member (desirable)
- IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Outstanding communication and advocacy skills
- Excellent organisational skills for file and diary management
- Full UK driving license
- Ability to use initiative and work proactively
