Working with Wrexham County Borough Council, We are seeking a motivated and skilled Children’s Enhanced Social Worker to join their Assessment and Intervention Team. About the Role As part of the Assessment and Intervention Team, you will:
- Conduct Section 47 enquiries and comprehensive assessments.
- Manage an allocated caseload, delivering routine interventions and escalating complex cases requiring higher-level professional input.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide support to children, adults, and their families, ensuring risks are identified and minimised.
- Consolidate and develop your skills through mentoring, guidance, and professional supervision, taking on increasing responsibility and independent decision-making.
- Undertake assessments, design care and support plans (including education plans), and recommend appropriate support from internal and external providers.
- Apply social work techniques to meet the needs of children, adults, families, and carers, ensuring all plans are evidence-based, recorded, reviewed, and updated.
- Participate in a duty rota, responding effectively to urgent cases, assessing risks, and coordinating immediate responses while working in partnership with other professionals.
- Social work qualification and Social Care Wales registration.
- Experience in children’s social care, including Section 47 enquiries.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads, prioritise effectively, and make sound professional decisions.
- Strong communication and partnership skills to work with children, adults, families, carers, and other professionals.
- Commitment to delivering child- and family-centred practice.
