Childrens Child Protection Chair - Contract

Are you an experienced Child Protection Chair looking to make a meaningful impact on children's lives? We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable professional to join our team as a Childrens Child Protection Chair. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to improving outcomes for children and families through crucial child protection processes.

Position: Childrens Child Protection Chair
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Predominantly remote, with initial and review Child Protection Conferences in person, and face-to-face team meetings.
Salary: Competitive hourly rate (£/day to be confirmed upon application)


Key Responsibilities of the Childrens Child Protection Chair:

  • Facilitate and lead Child Protection Conferences, ensuring thorough assessment and planning to safeguard children's welfare
  • Conduct initial Child Protection conferences in person, ensuring all relevant information is gathered and decisions are made efficiently
  • Lead review conferences as indicated, focusing on progress, risk management, and safeguarding measures
  • Collaborate effectively with social workers, family members, and other professionals during conferences
  • Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of all proceedings and decisions made during conferences
  • Adhere to statutory requirements and departmental policies to ensure compliance and best practice
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions (face-to-face) to support continuous professional development
  • Work predominantly from home outside of scheduled conferences and meetings, with flexible arrangements agreed upon with the line manager

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Child Protection Chair or similar role within social services
  • Knowledge of statutory child protection procedures and safeguarding legislation
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and complex situations empathetically and professionally
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Qualification in social work, social care, or equivalent relevant professional qualification
