Are you an experienced Childrens Mash Social Worker looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on children's lives? We are seeking a dedicated Childrens Mash Social Worker to join a dynamic, multi-agency team based at Shire Hall in Gloucester. This is an exciting contract role that offers the chance to work within a supportive environment while helping safeguard vulnerable children and families.

Position Overview

As a Childrens Mash Social Worker, you will be responsible for advising on children's safety and wellbeing by screening and triaging referrals within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This role does not involve case holding but requires a sharp, inquisitive approach combined with the ability to work under tight timescales. Your expertise in frontline social work, particularly within a MASH environment, will be vital in making timely decisions and coordinating appropriate interventions.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screening and triage of referrals to determine the appropriate level of intervention for children and families.
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Gather relevant information and make informed judgments on the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Work within tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of decision-making.
  • Collaborate with team members, managers, and partner agencies to share information and promote best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all activity and decisions made.
  • Participate in hybrid working arrangements, initially working primarily from the office at Shire Hall for training, with increased time working remotely as agreed.
  • Be part of a supported and stable team environment committed to continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a social worker, preferably in a MASH environment.
  • Strong understanding of thresholds for intervention and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure within strict timescales.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid social work qualification and registration.
  • Resilience and a proactive approach to complex cases.
  • Flexibility to work on-site at Shire Hall for a minimum of three days per week during induction and training.

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay rate (to be discussed at interview).
  • Hybrid working arrangements – home and office-based.
  • Supportive and stable management team.
  • Opportunity to work within a collaborative multi-agency hub.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Chance to make a positive difference in children's lives.
