MOBILE CLEANING OPERATIVE
Location: South Birmingham
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Initial Duration: 12 Weeks
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Pay: £14.00 per hour PAYE (including holiday pay) | £16.85 per hour Umbrella
Driving: Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle essential

The Role
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Mobile Cleaning Operative to join a Facilities Management Mobile Operations Team, providing cleaning services across properties throughout the South Birmingham area.

This is a mobile role, so you will be required to travel between different locations using your own vehicle. A mileage allowance will be paid for travel.

The position is initially offered on a 3-month temporary basis, with the potential to become a longer term role for the right candidate.

Core Job Duties

• Carry out cleaning duties across residential properties, communal areas and associated facilities.
• Complete scheduled cleaning tasks across multiple locations to a consistently high standard.
• Clean communal areas including entrances, hallways, staircases, corridors, lifts and shared facilities.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and maintain floors and other surfaces.
• Dust, wipe and sanitise surfaces, fixtures and fittings.
• Clean kitchens, toilets, washrooms and other communal facilities.
• Empty bins and remove waste in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Carry out periodic and deep-cleaning duties when required.
• Clean windows, glass, doors and other accessible areas as required.
• Ensure cleaning equipment, materials and supplies are used safely and appropriately.
• Follow COSHH, Health & Safety and infection-control procedures.
• Report maintenance issues, defects, damage, hazards or safeguarding concerns identified during cleaning duties.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any issues to the relevant supervisor.
• Manage daily workloads effectively and ensure scheduled properties are attended within required timescales.
• Work professionally when entering occupied properties and communal residential environments.
• Maintain a professional and respectful approach when dealing with residents, colleagues, contractors and members of the public.
• Use PPE and appropriate cleaning equipment in line with company procedures.
• Keep cleaning equipment and the vehicle clean, tidy and in good working order.
• Work independently while also supporting the wider Mobile Operations Team.

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within commercial, domestic, housing association, communal or mobile cleaning. You will need to be reliable, organised and comfortable travelling between different locations throughout South Birmingham.

You must have:

• Full UK Driving License and Access to your own vehicle
• Previous cleaning experience
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Reliable and punctual approach
• Flexible and adaptable attitude
• Ability to work to cleaning schedules and deadlines
• Willingness to undertake DBS clearance

An immediate start is available, subject to successful onboarding and DBS clearance.
