£35–£40 per hour (Umbrella / Deemed LTD, Inside IR35)

Are you an experienced Commercial Property Officer seeking an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within local government? We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Property Officer to support North Lincolnshire Council's Assets & Development team on a short-term 2-week contract. This is an excellent chance for a property professional with estate management experience to contribute to regeneration projects, economic growth, and the effective management of the Council’s commercial property portfolio.

Role Overview – Commercial Property Officer

As a Commercial Property Officer, you will hold a vital role in managing North Lincolnshire Council’s commercial land and property assets. Your expertise will support council initiatives, optimize property performance, and facilitate property transactions, negotiating lease renewals, acquisitions, and disposals. Your work will directly support regeneration efforts and economic development, making a real difference to the local community.

Candidate Responsibilities – Commercial Property Officer

The responsibilities for the Commercial Property Officer include:

  • Managing the Council’s commercial land and property portfolio, including acquisitions, disposals, and estate management activities.
  • Providing valuation and estate management advice across various property matters.
  • Supporting regeneration projects through property development initiatives.
  • Negotiating property transactions such as lease renewals, acquisitions, and disposals.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with businesses, landowners, developers, and investors.
  • Reviewing property holdings to identify opportunities for asset optimization and disposal.
  • Preparing reports and recommendations for senior officers and elected members.
  • Monitoring property budgets, rental income, and arrears.
  • Undertaking site inspections and representing the Council at stakeholder meetings.

Candidate Requirements – Commercial Property Officer

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Degree qualification in a property-related discipline and/or MRICS qualification (or working towards).
  • Experience in estate management, commercial property, or asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of valuation principles, landlord and tenant matters, and property legislation.
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to provide professional property advice.
  • Excellent communication, report-writing, and relationship management skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence, with the ability to travel across North Lincolnshire.
