Commissioning Broker
Location: Gloucester (Shire Hall – office based initially)
Gloucestershire County Council
Base: Gloucester – Shire Hall
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week
Contract: Initial 7 months (with potential extension to September next year)
Working Arrangement:
Gloucestershire County Council is looking for a Commissioning Broker to join a fast-paced and impactful team supporting adults and children’s care services.
You will play a key role in connecting individuals with appropriate care and support services, working closely with families, professionals, hospitals, and care providers to secure safe, timely, and high-quality placements.

You will bring:
Location: Gloucester (Shire Hall – office based initially)
Gloucestershire County Council
Base: Gloucester – Shire Hall
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week
Contract: Initial 7 months (with potential extension to September next year)
Working Arrangement:
- First 2 months fully office-based (5 days per week at Shire Hall, Gloucester)
- Hybrid working may be considered after initial 2 months
- £17.64 per hour (Umbrella)/£13.69 per hour (PAYE)
- Grade dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Support safe and timely hospital discharges in collaboration with partner agencies
- Manage a varied and sometimes complex caseload
- Commission and source appropriate care packages and placements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across multiple systems
- Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Monitor provider performance and ensure quality standards are met
- Work closely with managers and colleagues to improve processes and service delivery
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
