Community Nurse / Practice Nurse – Summer Holiday Cover (Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Waveney & Lowestoft)
Are you an experienced Community Nurse / Practice Nurse looking for a short-term role to make a difference during the busy summer months? We are seeking dedicated Community Nurse / Practice Nurse professionals to support community nursing services across Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Waveney, and Lowestoft from mid-July to early September 2026. Job Title: Community Nurse / Practice Nurse
Position Details:
- Contract Length: 2 weeks (with potential extension, if needed)
- Location: Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Waveney & Lowestoft
- Working Days: Monday to Saturday
- Working Hours: 08:30 – 16:30 (Monday to Friday)
- Summer Holiday Cover: July – September 2026
- Pay Rate: £45.00 per hour (weekday), £48.00 per hour (weekend)
Candidate Responsibilities:
As a Community Nurse / Practice Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred care within the community. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a community caseload confidently and independently
- Conducting diabetes management and B12 injections
- Administering subcutaneous injections
- Performing wound assessments and wound care, including lower limb wounds (training and competency required)
- Providing catheter care for male, female, and suprapubic catheters
- Documenting and updating patient records electronically
- Supporting patients with community-based health needs and promoting wellbeing
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (NMC Registered)
- Current NMC registration and full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
- Previous experience in Community Nursing, District Nursing, or Practice Nursing
- Competent in managing diabetic care, injections, wound care, and catheter care
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating confidence in community settings
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with compression bandaging and various compression systems
- Knowledge of electronic patient record systems
- Community caseload management experience

Payment Information:
This assignment falls inside IR35; payments will be processed via PAYE Umbrella companies only, with full deductions as required by legislation. Limited company contractors are welcome, but payments will also be subject to IR35 rules.
