Conference Chair & Independent Review (Children's) – Contract (3 months)

Are you an experienced Conference Chair with a background in child protection and LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) experience? We are seeking a highly qualified professional to lead and facilitate a crucial conference and independent review process related to children's safeguarding. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic team on a contract basis for a period of three months.

About the Role: Conference Chair & Independent Review (Children's)

As the Conference Chair & Independent Reviewer for Children's services, you will be responsible for leading sensitive and complex discussions surrounding child protection cases. You will facilitate conferences, ensure that all procedures follow statutory guidance, and provide expert review and recommendations. Your LADO experience is essential for understanding the legal and procedural frameworks involved in safeguarding children and young people.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate child protection conferences with sensitivity and professionalism
  • Conduct independent reviews of safeguarding procedures and case management
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidelines and best practices in child protection
  • Liaise effectively with social workers, legal teams, and other key professionals
  • Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, actions, and recommendations
  • Maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately
  • Attend the scheduled conference and review sessions, providing expert guidance
  • Prepare reference checks prior to interviews where possible

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Conference Chair in child protection or similar role
  • LADO experience is essential and highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures, legislation, and guidance
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive cases with empathy and professionalism
  • References must be provided before interview, where possible
