Criminal Defence Solicitor

Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with a highly respected and long-established law firm, with offices in the West Midlands, which is looking to recruit a Criminal Defence Solicitor / Duty Solicitor for their well-established Criminal Defence team.
 
Role: Criminal Defence Solicitor (Duty Solicitor)
Location: West Midlands – hybrid
Hours: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered)
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a varied caseload of Criminal Defence matters.
• Representing clients at police stations and Magistrates' Courts.
• Conducting advocacy, including bail applications, case management hearings and trials.
• Participating in the Duty Solicitor rota, including out-of-hours and weekend work.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor with experience in Criminal Defence (newly qualified and nearly qualified solicitors with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply).
• Duty Solicitor Accreditation, or a genuine desire to obtain accreditation.
• Experience representing clients at police stations and Magistrates' Courts.
• Strong advocacy skills or a willingness to further develop them.
