As a Customer Advice And Support Worker, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking assistance. Working within Middlesbrough’s multi-disciplinary team, you will provide face-to-face support at drop-in sessions and over the phone. Your role is crucial in assessing priorities, offering short-term case oversight, and ensuring that urgent needs are responded to promptly and effectively.
The Customer Advice And Support Worker will also support the Housing Solutions Team by coordinating appointments, gathering relevant information, and assisting with administrative duties. Your work will help ensure that service users receive comprehensive support tailored to their specific circumstances, ultimately helping them navigate complex challenges such as homelessness, domestic abuse, or housing issues.
Key Responsibilities of the Customer Advice And Support Worker:
- Offer face-to-face support at drop-in sessions and reception areas
- Process telephone calls and email enquiries efficiently
- Provide triage assessments, prioritising urgent cases at initial contact
- Support service users by arranging meetings, gathering documentation, and coordinating interpreters
- Carry out general clerical and administrative tasks, including photocopying, filing, and completing forms
- Manage housing register enquiries, process payments, and support temporary accommodation administration
- Work collaboratively within rota systems across multiple locations
- Contribute to partnership initiatives with external agencies and emergency support services
- Maintain accurate manual and digital records for effective case management
