A client within the Public Sector based in Carmarthenshire is currently recruiting for a Customer Agent to join their Customer Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate being enthusiastic, energetic, and able to provide high-quality customer care. Previous local authority experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to be the first point of contact for residents, dealing with a wide range of enquiries on the phone and online including requests for council services, making appointments, giving advice on a range of applications, and helping people to fill in forms online.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Acting as the customer’s advocate, taking ownership of enquiries until resolved or appropriately transferred.
• Providing accurate, prompt advice and assistance to customers across a wide range of service requests and applications.
• Using Council IT systems to record contacts accurately and maintain confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act.
• Assisting with administrative tasks, outbound calls, and support for service operations.
• Participating in training and team meetings and working flexibly between home and office locations as required.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A positive, polite, and confident approach to customer interactions.
• Welsh – Spoken Level 4 required
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience in customer service, either face-to-face or via telephone.
• Knowledge of MS Windows software or similar.
• Awareness of principles of customer care and local government services.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £15.66 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £12.50 per hour PAYE).
