Cyber Security Engineer – Contract (13 Months)

About the Role:

The Cyber Security Engineer will play a key part in safeguarding organizational assets by analysing and responding to security incidents, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing security measures. You will work closely with the MIP and SOC teams, providing expert insights and ensuring robust security protocols are in place. Your expertise will help prevent threats and ensure compliance with security standards.

Candidate Responsibilities:

As a Cyber Security Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and presenting detailed reports on security incidents, attack trends, and the overall effectiveness of security measures to senior management.
  • Monitoring security infrastructure and identifying potential vulnerabilities.
  • Supporting existing resources within the MIP and SOC teams.
  • Assisting in the development of security policies and procedures.
  • Conducting risk assessments and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Responding to security incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest cyber threats, tools, and techniques.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of security incident management and reporting.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience supporting Security Operations Centres (SOCs) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present reports to senior leadership.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CEH) are desirable.
