Data Engineer - Permanent Position

Are you an experienced Data Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity to shape the future of data and analytics? We are currently recruiting for a talented Data Engineer to join our client's Technology, Data & Change team in Long Stratton, Norfolk. This is a permanent role offering a hybrid working environment with fortnightly office attendance, a competitive salary of up to £63,000 per annum, and the chance to be part of a pioneering organisation's transition to Microsoft Fabric.

About the Data Engineer Role

As a Data Engineer, you will be integral in developing and enhancing the organisation’s modern Azure-based data platform. Your responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support critical business functions. You will play a key role in implementing data quality and governance frameworks, ensuring high standards of data reliability, security, and accessibility.

This Data Engineer position offers an excellent platform to demonstrate your expertise in cloud data environments, contributing directly to strategic decision-making processes across the company.

Candidate Responsibilities for the Data Engineer

  • Design and maintain data warehouse solutions to support business needs
  • Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure technologies such as Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks
  • Implement data quality and governance frameworks to ensure high data standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and deliver accessible, reliable data solutions
  • Support transition to Microsoft Fabric and stay updated with evolving cloud-based data tools
  • Troubleshoot data issues and optimise data processes for performance and efficiency

Candidate Requirements for the Data Engineer

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working within cloud data environments
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modelling concepts
  • Experience working with modern Azure data platforms and tools
