As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates to the highest standards. You will take on a hands-on leadership role, supporting both staff and young people on a daily basis.

The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates to the highest standards. You will take on a hands-on leadership role, supporting both staff and young people on a daily basis.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading shifts and managing day-to-day operations within the home
- Supporting and managing staff, including supervision and performance guidance
- Responding to and managing behaviours in a calm and professional manner
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures are consistently followed
- Completing management tasks delegated by the Registered Manager
- Carrying out staff inductions and supporting new team members
- Overseeing staffing levels and addressing any operational challenges
Compliance & Oversight
You will play a key role in maintaining compliance and preparing for external scrutiny, including:
- Managing and supporting regulatory requirements
- Coordinating and engaging with inspections and external visits
- Ensuring the home remains inspection-ready at all times
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience within residential childcare
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory requirements
- Confidence in managing challenging situations and making decisions
- A proactive, organised, and resilient approach
