Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential

Are you an experienced residential care professional ready to take the next step into leadership? We are looking for a confident and committed Deputy Manager to support the delivery of high-quality care and help lead a dedicated team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping a positive and stable environment for young people, while developing your leadership career.

The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates to the highest standards. You will take on a hands-on leadership role, supporting both staff and young people on a daily basis.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading shifts and managing day-to-day operations within the home
  • Supporting and managing staff, including supervision and performance guidance
  • Responding to and managing behaviours in a calm and professional manner
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are consistently followed
  • Completing management tasks delegated by the Registered Manager
  • Carrying out staff inductions and supporting new team members
  • Overseeing staffing levels and addressing any operational challenges
In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the home, ensuring continuity and high standards of care at all times.

Compliance & Oversight
You will play a key role in maintaining compliance and preparing for external scrutiny, including:

  • Managing and supporting regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating and engaging with inspections and external visits
  • Ensuring the home remains inspection-ready at all times
What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within residential childcare
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory requirements
  • Confidence in managing challenging situations and making decisions
  • A proactive, organised, and resilient approach
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ready to step up, take ownership, and make a real impact within a well-supported environment.
