Disposals Surveyor – Local Authority Client in West Yorkshire
£323 PAYE / £450 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35)
37 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for a Disposals Surveyor on behalf of a Local Authority client in West Yorkshire. This role will support the delivery of a varied disposal programme, managing surplus property assets from initial strategy through to completion.

You will play a key role in maximising capital receipts while ensuring all disposals are compliant with statutory requirements and aligned with the Council’s wider objectives.

 

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of freehold property disposals from inception to completion
• Prepare disposal strategies, valuations and recommendations
• Lead negotiations with developers, purchasers and agents
• Work closely with retained agents to deliver successful disposal outcomes
• Ensure compliance with Section 123 and internal governance processes
• Liaise with legal teams to progress transactions and resolve title issues
• Engage with internal stakeholders, members and external partners
• Maintain accurate audit trails and supporting documentation

Requirements

• MRICS or FRICS qualified
• Strong experience in property disposals, estates or valuation
• Proven track record of negotiating property transactions
• Understanding of public sector governance and statutory compliance
• Experience working with legal documentation, titles and planning policy
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
