Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Disrepair Surveyor on behalf of a Local Authority in the West of England.
This is a key role within Housing and Landlord Services, responsible for managing housing disrepair claims from investigation through to resolution. You will work closely with legal teams, tenants, and contractors to ensure claims are handled efficiently, minimising litigation while delivering high-quality repair solutions.

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Disrepair Surveyor on behalf of a Local Authority in the West of England.
This is a key role within Housing and Landlord Services, responsible for managing housing disrepair claims from investigation through to resolution. You will work closely with legal teams, tenants, and contractors to ensure claims are handled efficiently, minimising litigation while delivering high-quality repair solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage disrepair cases end-to-end, from inspection through to completion
- Conduct detailed property inspections and diagnose defects
- Produce technical reports, specifications, and schedules of work
- Oversee contractors and ensure works are delivered on time and to standard
- Act as Contract Administrator / Project Manager across disrepair projects
- Liaise with legal teams and provide witness statements for court proceedings
- Monitor budgets and ensure value for money across all works
- Calculate and justify compensation in line with housing guidance
- Maintain clear communication with tenants throughout the process
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and housing legislation
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Disrepair Surveyor or Repairs Surveyor role
- Strong knowledge of building defects and housing maintenance
- Experience working within social housing or local authority environments
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
- Experience producing technical reports and legal documentation
- Full UK Driving Licence
