About the Role:
As the DSG Consultant Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of financial accountants, finance assistants, and trainees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This 5-month contract is based in Slough, with hybrid working arrangements, offering a collaborative environment where your leadership, strategic thinking, and financial acumen will be valued.
Candidate Responsibilities for the DSG Consultant Finance Manager:
- Lead and manage the Finance and Commercial team, promoting high standards of performance, standards, and accountability.
- Implement and monitor financial strategies aligned with council priorities, ensuring value for money and budgetary compliance.
- Provide robust financial analysis, modelling, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
- Work collaboratively across departments, partners, and stakeholders to improve service delivery and financial management.
- Oversee statutory financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and CIPFA standards.
- Develop commercial opportunities and contribute to innovative service delivery models.
- Facilitate change and transformation initiatives, embedding continuous improvement processes.
- Support budget preparation, monitoring, and year-end processes, advising managers on financial implications.
- Manage risk, performance, and compliance within your remit, fostering a culture of performance excellence.

Person Specification:
The ideal DSG Consultant Finance Manager will possess CCAB/CIMA qualifications, significant experience leading financial functions in large, complex organisations, and a proven ability to develop and implement strategic financial plans.
