About the Role:

As the DSG Consultant Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of financial accountants, finance assistants, and trainees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Candidate Responsibilities for the DSG Consultant Finance Manager:

• Lead and manage the Finance and Commercial team, promoting high standards of performance, standards, and accountability.
• Implement and monitor financial strategies aligned with council priorities, ensuring value for money and budgetary compliance.
• Provide robust financial analysis, modelling, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
• Work collaboratively across departments, partners, and stakeholders to improve service delivery and financial management.
• Oversee statutory financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and CIPFA standards.
• Develop commercial opportunities and contribute to innovative service delivery models.
• Facilitate change and transformation initiatives, embedding continuous improvement processes.
• Support budget preparation, monitoring, and year-end processes, advising managers on financial implications.
• Manage risk, performance, and compliance within your remit, fostering a culture of performance excellence.

Person Specification:
