Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced Duty Coordinator to join a Children and Young People's Mental Health Service in Derbyshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to play a pivotal role in delivering responsive, high-quality support to children, young people and their families. As Duty Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the duty system, ensuring referrals are triaged effectively and children and young people receive the right support at the right time.
Working closely with operational and clinical leaders, you will provide guidance on safeguarding, risk assessment and clinical decision-making while supporting practitioners to deliver safe, effective and timely interventions. You will also contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and innovative ways of working to continually enhance service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the duty and referral system.
- Oversee the triage of referrals, ensuring children and young people are directed to the most appropriate support pathways.
- Provide guidance and support to practitioners around safeguarding, risk assessment, safety planning and clinical decision-making.
- Monitor service demand, caseloads and waiting times to ensure timely access to support.
- Work collaboratively with operational managers, clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of care.
- Develop strong working relationships with schools, healthcare professionals, social care, local authorities and other partner agencies.
- Support service performance by monitoring key targets and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to service development, quality assurance and the implementation of best practice.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with safeguarding, governance and organisational policies.
- Experience working within children and young people's mental health, early intervention or a related service.
- A professional background such as EMHP, CWP, Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or another relevant qualification.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and safety planning.
- Excellent clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
- Experience supporting, mentoring or providing guidance to colleagues within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced service.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of referral pathways and thresholds for children and young people's mental health services.
- Experience working within a duty, triage or referral management function.
- Experience in service development, quality improvement or performance monitoring.
- Competitive salary of £39,351 - £48,108 per annum.
