Pay Rate: £23.23 per hour (Umbrella) / £17.92 per hour (PAYE)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated EHCP Officer to join a busy local authority team in the West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful work supporting children, young people, and families.
About the Role
This role focuses on gathering and recording information from children, families, professionals, and internal records to produce high-quality social care advice for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and Reviews.
Please note, this is not a case-holding social work role or a SEND Case Officer/Coordinator position. The role requires regular office attendance in line with service needs and should not be considered fully remote.
You will work within a hybrid model, attending the office for team meetings, training, supervision, and service activities as required.
This position has a particular focus on supporting children who are not currently open to the Trust, ensuring all children receive appropriate and timely social care advice.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete social care advice for EHCPs in line with statutory requirements
- Undertake telephone-based assessments with families and professionals
- Gather, analyse, and accurately record information using internal systems
- Liaise effectively with parents, carers, professionals, and partner agencies
- Manage a caseload of referrals and consistently meet statutory deadlines
- Apply a child-centred and strengths-based approach in all work
- Signpost families to appropriate Early Help and support services
- Maintain clear and timely communication with families and stakeholders
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns
- Experience within children’s social care, family support, or early help
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and telephone-based)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Knowledge of safeguarding and early help frameworks
- Strong IT skills, including accurate data entry and system use
- A proactive, flexible, and professional approach
