Electrician (Local Authority Housing Repairs) – Temp to Perm (2 weeks contract to start)
Service Care Solutions is recruiting for an Electrician to join a Local Authority Housing Repairs team covering South Shields and South Tyneside. This role is a temp-to-perm opportunity, initially 2 weeks on contract, working Monday to Friday (8:00am–4:00pm) with 37 hours per week.

Electrician – Salary / Payrate

• £21.13 per hour (Ltd)
• PAYE equivalent £18.13 per hour
• Holiday allowance, overtime available
• Sociable working hours and local patch travel

What you’ll be doing as an Electrician (Candidate Responsibilities)

• Carry out electrical repairs and maintenance to void and tenanted properties
• Undertake responsive repair work across South Shields and South Tyneside
• Perform fault finding activities and diagnose issues efficiently
• Complete testing and inspection duties to a high standard
• Carry out 1st and 2nd fix electrical installation work
• Ensure all work is completed safely, complying with current regulations
• Maintain accurate records and follow agreed working procedures for an Electrician role within a housing repairs environment

Who we’re looking for (Required Skills & Experience)

• Craft Certificate / time served recognised apprenticeship in electrical work
• 18th Edition IEE Regulations
• Level 3 (Electrical Installation)
• 2391 Testing, Inspection and Certification (or equivalent)
• Experience of 1st and 2nd fix electrical installation
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Prior experience supporting repairs (including Repairs) in social housing or similar environments is desirable
