The prison operates like a self-contained town, requiring a coordinated effort across multiple disciplines. As an Electrician, your work will directly impact the safety, security, and daily functioning of the establishment for staff, prisoners, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site
- Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and safety standards
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise disruption
- Support statutory compliance, testing, and inspection activities
- Work collaboratively with other trades (plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.)
- Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergency issues when required
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
Essential skills and experience:
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation / Electrotechnical Services (e.g. C&G 2367 / 2357 or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 and AM2 / AM2S competency assessment
- BS 7671:2018 certification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a fully qualified electrician
- Experience in commercial or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of planned and preventative maintenance
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety practices
- Strong organisational and time management skills
