Employee Relations Advisor – Contract
Are you an experienced Employee Relations Advisor with a strong understanding of UK employment law and a passion for fostering positive workplace environments? We are seeking a dedicated Employee Relations Advisor to join our team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in complex and formal employee relations casework, providing expert guidance and ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant HR practices. Key Responsibilities of the Employee Relations Advisor
As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will be responsible for:
- Leading complex ER casework: Manage high-risk, sensitive, or complex disciplinary, grievance, capability, and attendance cases, ensuring adherence to policies, employment law, and best practices.
- Formal casework oversight: Provide expert guidance on formal procedures, quality assurance, and ensure timely, fair resolution of cases. Support managers in hearings and appeals, representing HR when necessary.
- Manager accountability: Coach and challenge managers to effectively manage their teams and comply with ER processes, holding them accountable for their responsibilities.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with trade unions, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective resolution of ER issues and promote a positive employee relations climate.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in employee relations, managing complex casework
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Experience in coaching managers on ER processes
