Family Information and Advice Officer (MASH)
Location: Enfield
Contract: Initial 3 months
Hours: 35 hours per week
Pay: £23.65 per hour (Umbrella) / £18.92 per hour (PAYE exclusive)
About the Role
Enfield Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Family Information and Advice Officer to join their Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) within Children’s Services.
This is a fast-paced, high-impact frontline role supporting safeguarding decisions for children and families across the borough. You will be part of a co-located, multi-agency team working together to ensure timely, proportionate and effective responses to safeguarding concerns.
Please note: Previous experience working within Children’s Services is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Enfield MASH is the single point of contact for safeguarding referrals and plays a critical role in identifying risk and ensuring children receive the right support at the right time. The team includes co-located professionals from multiple agencies, enabling joined-up decision-making and strong partnership working.

- Carry out MASH enquiries alongside Social Workers and partner agencies
- Assess and process referrals into Early Help and Children’s Social Care services
- Share and request information in line with GDPR and Working Together 2023
- Provide timely feedback to professionals and referrers
- Offer advice and guidance on available support services for children and families
- Maintain accurate, high-quality case records and contribute to reporting requirements
- Work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment to support safeguarding decisions

- Proven experience within Children’s Services
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and referral processes
- Ability to work at pace in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Confidence working in a multi-agency setting
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including GDPR and safeguarding frameworks
- A supportive and experienced MASH team with daily professional consultation
- A modern office base in Enfield Town with excellent transport links
