Are you an experienced Family Support Worker with a passion for safeguarding children and supporting families? We are currently recruiting for a Family Support Worker to join the Children & Families Wellbeing Service within the Family Intensive Support Team. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Lancaster and Morecambe areas.
About the Role as a Family Support Worker
As a Family Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and their families. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments of families' needs and developing tailored intervention plans
- Implementing multi-agency support plans to ensure holistic care
- Providing direct support and guidance to families to improve wellbeing and safety
- Collaborating closely with partner agencies to coordinate services
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation
Candidate Responsibilities for the Family Support Worker
The successful candidate for the Family Support Worker role will be expected to:
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of safeguarding children and families
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of need
- Implement and review multi-agency plans effectively
- Maintain a flexible approach to meet the varied needs of families
- Work proactively within the team to ensure positive outcomes for children and families
Key Requirements for the Family Support Worker
- Proven experience in a similar role within children and family services
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures
- Ability to undertake assessments and develop multi-agency plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
