Location: Plymouth
Contract: Initial 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £20.29 per hour (Umbrella) / £15.56 per hour (PAYE)

About the Role
Plymouth City Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join their Front Door Service. This is a vital role at the first point of contact for children and families, ensuring that those in need receive the right support at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

• Screen and triage incoming referrals, assessing levels of need and risk
• Coordinate appropriate support for vulnerable children and families
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver a joined-up approach
• Communicate directly with families, offering guidance and signposting to relevant early help services
• Identify safeguarding concerns and ensure risks are responded to appropriately
• Complete requests for information from partner agencies in a timely and professional manner

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children, young people, and families
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Experience working within a multi-agency setting is desirable
