Key Responsibilities You will:
- Support qualified Social Workers with statutory assessments through information gathering, record collation, and analysis
- Undertake home visits and direct work with children and families, both independently and jointly
- Capture the voice of the child, ensuring their views, wishes, and lived experiences are central to planning
- Deliver 1:1 and group-based intervention work to support positive routines, relationships, and behaviour management
- Produce clear, high-quality written observations, reports, and contributions to Child in Need and safeguarding plans
- Contribute to child in need planning and act as Lead Professional under supervision
- Facilitate and supervise family contact sessions, providing professional observations and reports
- Participate in duty rotas, ensuring any safeguarding concerns are escalated immediately
- Contribute to court proceedings, including written statements and attendance as a witness when required
- Maintain accurate case records in line with policy and legislation
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support joined-up, effective interventions
- Experienced in working directly with children, young people, or families in a social care, education, or voluntary setting
- Knowledgeable about child development, safeguarding, and the needs of vulnerable children
- Confident in writing clear, accurate, and professional reports and observations
- Skilled in building trusting, supportive relationships with families in challenging circumstances
- Organised, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities under pressure
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
- Passionate about improving outcomes for children and families
- Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential car user post)
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Strong communication and IT skills (including Microsoft Word and Outlook)
