Specialist Family Support Worker - Darlington

Darlington is currently recruiting for a dedicated Family Support Worker to join our innovative Family Help team. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to work within a pioneering family support model, providing essential assistance to children in need and their families. If you have experience working with children and families and are looking for a rewarding contract opportunity, this could be your ideal next step. This role is on an initial temporary contract for 3 months with a view to being reviewed for extension following this period. The pay rate for this role is £16.62 per hour and it will be a full time position for 37 hours per week.
About the Role:
As a Family Support Worker, you will take on responsibilities including conducting children and families assessments, managing cases of children in need, and completing CIN reviews. You will work closely with families, offering direct support and advice to help improve their circumstances. The role involves regular multi-agency collaboration to ensure that families receive comprehensive and effective support.
Candidate Responsibilities:
• You will receive a dedicated and personal consultant with a vast knowledge of social work
• We are a nationwide supplier of Social Work staff to over 200 local authorities which means we have a wide variety of exclusive roles based all over the country
• We provide frequent updates of new opportunities via text and email
• We have an expert payroll service which is processed twice a week

- Support families to achieve positive outcomes
- Past experience working with children and families
- Strong assessment and direct work skills
- Ability to engage with families in challenging circumstances
- Willingness to learn and adapt within a new family help model
- Valid driving licence and access to a car are essential
