This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and helping families build positive, lasting relationships.

The Role As a Family Time Worker, you will coordinate and facilitate family time sessions between children and their parents or wider family members, ensuring that every interaction is safe, supportive and focused on the child's needs.

You will work closely with children, families and professionals, providing guidance, support and observations that contribute to positive outcomes and informed decision-making.

  • Facilitate therapeutic family time sessions between children and their families.
  • Provide support, guidance and practical parenting advice during sessions.
  • Transport children and young people to and from family time sessions where required.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation following family time sessions.
  • Contribute to safeguarding plans and promote the welfare of children at all times.
  • Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of children and families.
About You To be successful in this role, you will be able to engage effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds and remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Essential Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Working with Children and Families (or equivalent qualification).
  • Experience working directly with vulnerable children, young people and families within a statutory or voluntary setting.
  • Understanding of child development and the impact of trauma and stress on children.
  • Knowledge of key legislation, policies and guidance relating to Children's Social Care.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging or conflict situations effectively.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic recording systems.
  • Commitment to restorative and strengths-based approaches when working with families.
  • Full UK driving licence and unrestricted access to a vehicle.
Why Apply? This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and families by supporting safe, meaningful family relationships and helping children achieve the best possible outcomes.

You'll join a supportive team environment where your contribution is valued and where you can further develop your skills and experience within Children's Services.
