Freedom of Information Administrator
Location: Waterwells Police Headquarters (Fully Office-Based)
Contract Type: Temporary (Initial 3 Months, Rolling Monthly Extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working Pattern: 07:00–15:00, 08:00–16:00, or 09:00–17:00
Pay Rate: £14.14 PAYE per hour / £18.67 LTD per hour
About the Role:
This role supports the Information Disclosure Team in responding to requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. You’ll be responsible for gathering, reviewing, and organising information from across the Constabulary to enable timely and accurate disclosures to the public.
This is not a passive admin role. You will need to actively chase officers, challenge delays, and take ownership of requests to meet strict statutory deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting handling Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in line with legislation and deadlines
- Source and collect information from departments across the Constabulary
- Proactively contact officers and staff to obtain required data
- Interrogate police systems (e.g. STORM, NICHE, WIZARD) to identify relevant information
- Review and validate responses to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Maintain accurate records and audit trails
- Support Disclosure Officers by preparing and circulating information
- Carry out general administrative duties (data entry, scanning, photocopying, etc.)
- Ensure all work is delivered in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner
Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (including Maths and English or equivalent)
- Proven administrative experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Strong keyboard and IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, databases)
- Professional telephone manner
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
- Awareness of the Data Protection Act 2018
