Gambling Support Practitioner X4 – Contract (2 Weeks)

We are currently seeking four dedicated Gambling Support Practitioners to join a vital regional service supporting individuals affected by gambling harms. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced health and social care professionals to employ their skills within a dynamic, community-focused environment.

About the Role: Gambling Support Practitioner X4

As a Gambling Support Practitioner X4, you will deliver personalized interventions to those experiencing gambling-related difficulties. Your primary responsibility will be to provide face-to-face, telephone, and online support, ensuring clients receive tailored recovery plans rooted in evidence-based approaches such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy.

You will collaborate with external agencies and community groups to ensure seamless pathways into support, thereby enhancing service accessibility and visibility. Your work will involve engaging diverse clients, developing effective relationships with stakeholders, and contributing to a multi-agency approach to recovery. Your efforts will help embed gambling harm support across regional communities, making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Conduct person-centred assessments and develop recovery plans
  • Deliver psychosocial interventions, including brief, extended brief, and structured support
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural approaches
  • Engage with clients, carers, and community groups to identify gambling harms
  • Build partnerships with external agencies to create referral pathways
  • Follow safeguarding procedures in line with legal and ethical standards
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and evaluation
  • Participate in training, supervision, and service promotion activities
  • Challenge stigma and reduce barriers to accessing support services

Candidate Required Skills:

  • Professional qualification in Health, Social Care, Psychology, or related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above)
  • Experience managing client caseloads and delivering psychosocial interventions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of interventions supporting gambling-related harm
  • Ability to work flexibly across different locations and out of hours as needed

Salary/Pay Rate: This is a contract role with competitive pay, payable daily during the two-week assignment.
