Hard FM Manager – Medway, Kent | 2-Week Contract | £450 per day Umbrella / Deemed LTD
Are you an experienced facilities management professional looking for an exciting senior management opportunity? Service Care Solutions is seeking a Hard FM Manager to oversee critical Hard FM services for Medway Council. This contract role offers a unique chance to lead operations within a dynamic public sector estate, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
About the Role
The Hard FM Manager will be responsible for delivering high-quality Hard FM services across Medway's diverse corporate estate. You will managing contractors, internal teams, and supply chain partners to ensure all services—Mechanical, Electrical, and Fabric—are compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with strategic objectives. The successful candidate will report directly to senior management, contributing to continuous service improvements, compliance adherence, and operational excellence.
Candidate Responsibilities
As the Hard FM Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the operational delivery of Hard FM contracts and supply chain partners
- Overseeing contractor performance and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and service standards
- Leading and developing Hard FM Supervisors across Fabric and M&E disciplines
- Conducting contract reviews, audits, and performance monitoring activities
- Identifying service delivery issues and implementing corrective actions
- Maintaining statutory compliance records (Fire Safety, Asbestos, Legionella, Gas, Electrical, Lift)
- Monitoring budgets and expenditure to optimise financial resources
- Supporting energy management initiatives and sustainability objectives
- Producing reports and performance information for senior management
- Managing staff performance, appraisals, and training
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners
- Deputising for the Head of FM Delivery when needed
Candidate Requirements
Ideal candidates will have:
- Degree-level qualification in Facilities Management or related discipline
- Extensive experience managing Hard FM services within large, complex estates
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract management
- Solid understanding of statutory compliance and Building Safety Act 2022 principles
- Proven leadership skills in managing FM teams
- Budget management experience
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
- Public sector FM experience (desirable)
- Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH (advantageous)
- IWFM Level 6 or Chartered status (beneficial)
