Head of Law (People & Litigation)

Service Care Legal are working with a West London local authority seeking an experienced Head of Law (People) to lead a high-performing legal team covering Litigation and Social Care matters. This is a senior leadership role managing the People legal function, overseeing complex matters across:
 
ROLE:                  Head of Law (People)
LOCATION:         West London (2–3 days office attendance)
CONTRACT:        6-Month Contract | Potential Extension
RATE:                   £550–£600 per day Umbrella / £526pd PAYE inc. holiday pay / £469.58pd PAYE inc. holiday pay
 

• Adult & Children’s Social Care
• Education law
• Housing litigation
• Employment matters
• ASB & prosecutions
• Debt recovery and wider civil litigation

 
You’ll provide strategic legal advice to senior leadership, manage key stakeholder relationships, and lead a team including Principal Lawyers across Litigation and Social Care.
 
Key Requirements:
 

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX with a minimum 5 years’ PQE
• Significant local government legal experience
• Strong background in Litigation and/or Social Care law
• Worked within a Principal or Head of Law (or similar) roles previously
