Head of SEND Improvements – Interim Opportunity
Location: Berkshire
Duration: 3 months (initial)
Rate: £700 per day (Umbrella) (£518.56 PAYE exclusive)
Hours: 37 per week
We are currently seeking an experienced Head of SEND Improvements to support a key local authority programme in Berkshire on an interim basis.
This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for driving forward improvements across Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering service transformation, ensuring better outcomes for children and young people.

- Work collaboratively with senior leaders, schools, and external partners
- Drive service transformation and performance improvement
- Ensure compliance with statutory SEND requirements
- Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for service development
- Deliver measurable improvements in outcomes and service delivery
- Significant senior leadership experience within SEND services
- Strong track record of service improvement within a local authority or public sector setting
- In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory frameworks
- Proven ability to lead transformation programmes and manage stakeholders
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and communication skills
